Jacinda Ardern represents a future for New Zealand women that’s worth celebrating.
I couldn’t let the weekend pass without commenting on the stunning images of Jacinda Ardern wearing the Kahu huruhuru during a banquet for Commonwealth Leaders at Buckingham Palace, London.
I imagine that, regardless of political viewpoint, most of us will be able to appreciate what is represented by these images.
A young NZ woman, as our leader, hapu (pregnant) and on the world leadership stage wearing Korowai which symbolises her mana (strength).
What’s not to love? ❤️
Even the press (for once) couldn’t position Jacinda’s sartorial elegance as more important than the juxtaposition posed by her power vs traditional representations of power.
